Truck Driver/Warehouse Specialist

The Anchorage School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Driver/Warehouse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for loading and unloading delivery trucks, making deliveries to schools and units, and assisting with warehouse duties such as filling requisitions, sorting, packing, and storing supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Load and unload delivery trucks with all food supplies and related items, and make deliveries to schools or units according to a prescribed schedule.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as filling requisitions, sorting, packing, and storing supplies.
- Pick up and deliver items from one location to another on request.
- Assist with record keeping, shelving, arranging, labeling, sorting, and storing of warehouse supplies.
- Safely and skillfully operate forklifts, electrical and manual pallet jacks, 2.5 ton trucks, flatbed trucks, step vans, pickup trucks, and power tailgates.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with others.
- Accommodate shifts subject to seasonal changes.
- Perform minor, non-technical service to trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Learns assigned routes and locations on individual delivery schedules.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in truck driving and delivery work, with evidence of ability to perform tasks assigned.
- A valid Alaska class A or class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement.
- A food handler's card within two weeks of beginning employment.
- Ability to pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical capacities assessment.
This position requires working in a professional environment with a wide variety of individuals, including working with diverse groups of people in a variety of different settings. The employee may be regularly exposed to a video display, outdoor weather conditions, and moderate noise levels.
Additional InformationAnchorage School District employees must possess the ability to read and write in English, communicate in English with school staff, co-workers, and the public, and comprehend and carry out oral and written directions and understand and follow English instructions and written documents.
