**Job Summary:**

The Instrument Room Assistant Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Instrument Room at Montefiore Medical Group. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of Central Sterile Technicians, overseeing the cleaning, decontamination, preparation, sterilization, storage, and distribution of sterile surgical instruments and medical devices.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of Central Sterile Technicians to ensure compliance with AORN, ANSI/AAMI, and other regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the budgetary process, track and report instrument expenditures, and establish auditing and management strategies to ensure instruments are available and in working condition.
  • Maintain sterile processing records, including inventory management and quality control measures.
  • Collaborate with the Instrument Room team to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

**Requirements:**

  • HSD/GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of Sterile Processing, Instrument Room, or Central Sterile Processing experience required.
  • Certification as a Central Sterile Processing Technician required.
