Job Summary

The Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences is seeking an experienced part-time Sterile Processing Technician Instructor. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, evaluating, and reporting student progress towards course objectives, as well as reviewing and updating course materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student completion of clinical competencies and ensure all objectives are met during clinical rotations.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making changes as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Teach class materials in-depth, relating instruction to career and employer expectations.
  • Implement evaluation for outcomes assessment, achieving established results while maintaining college standards of student satisfaction.
  • May travel to medical facilities and community venues to support curricular activities.
  • Accurately maintain attendance records and share pertinent information with the Program Director.
  • Attend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation, and other college events as required.
  • Ensure sufficient clinical sites for students during their clinical rotation.
  • Engage in retention activities, including documented communication with students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
  • Responsible for organization, administration, and effectiveness of clinical experiences for students.
  • Work with the Program Director to assess and record student paperwork related to clinical experiences.
  • Conduct preceptor-ship duties as needed.
  • Assist the Program Director and Clinical Instructors with hospital orientations as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or higher (Required)
  • Sterile processing experience: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Surgical processing experience: 2 years (Required)
  • CRCST or CIS or CHL certification (Required)
