Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled ECG Technician to join our team at Christus Health. As an ECG Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrocardiograms, holter monitors, and ECG management system tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistency with administrative and departmental policies, demonstrating appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Receive requests, determine priority, and perform electrocardiograms by transporting equipment to patient's bedside, reviewing physician orders, identifying patients, and introducing yourself to patients, explaining procedures.
  • Prepare and apply holter monitors at patient bedside, reviewing physician orders, identifying patients, and introducing yourself to patients, explaining procedures.
  • Maintain physician interpretations in the ECG management system, storing and retrieving ECGs to ensure consistency, editing ECGs promptly and correctly to ensure consistent patient care.
  • Identify and sort computer-generated ECG reports to ensure consistent patient care.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties within the department, including maintaining physician interpretation area and ensuring prompt interpretation of all ECGs performed.
  • Maintain physician relations by meeting all reasonable requests and assisting in the processes involved with interpretation.
  • Ensure proper equipment function, monitor, and order supplies as needed.
  • Observe patients for unusual reactions or events and properly report events to Risk Management through the use of the Variance Report Form. Report erratic operation of equipment to supervisor and/or Bio-Medical personnel.
  • Observe all pertinent personal and patient safety measures, consistently treating all patients with dignity and respect.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Experience

  • Preferred minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital or physician office environment.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • ECG certification or eligibility preferred.

Work Type:

Per Diem As Needed
