Job Summary

Air General Incorporated is seeking a skilled Cargo Handling Specialist to join our team at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of air cargo.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Warehouse Equipment: Safely operate forklifts, tugs, and pallet jacks to move cargo and equipment throughout the warehouse.
  • Process Customer Documentation: Accurately process customer paperwork and shipping information to ensure timely and efficient cargo handling.
  • Load and Unload Cargo: Load and unload air cargo from/to vehicles and trucks, ensuring proper handling and delivery of cargo.
  • Prepare and Break Down Cargo: Prepare, palletize, and/or break down cargo as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure Accurate Paperwork: Verify that all paperwork related to the cargo is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Clean up and sweep the warehouse, dispose of garbage, and maintain safe operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Comply with Regulations: Follow Hazmat and Security Requirements and Regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 70lbs.
  • Communication Skills: Must have basic computer skills and be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Availability: Must be available to work varied shifts, including nights, and occasionally on weekends and holidays.
