Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day Over the Road (OTR) shipments, managing various shipment types, and utilizing Transportation Management System (TMS) software to book non-contract loads with brokers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate OTR shipments, both outbound and inbound, to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Manage FTL and LTL shipments, utilizing TMS software to optimize routes and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and track loads, addressing any service failures or recovery actions as needed.
  • Obtain spot quotes for non-contract lane loads and provide freight quotes to the sales team.
  • Issue, complete, and distribute shipping orders to the warehouse, updating the shipping schedule.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse and sales team on load-related matters, such as ETA, carrier information, labeling requirements, and order updates.
  • Coordinate shipments with sister plants as required, ensuring efficient logistics coordination between locations.
  • Generate purchase contracts as needed by the sales team.
  • Provide customer account information upon request, including freight details, pricing, quantity shipped, and purchase order status.
  • Complete shipping paperwork and submit it for billing purposes.
  • Arrange sample pickups via UPS as needed for sales purposes.
  • Maintain customer shipment files for accurate record-keeping and documentation purposes.
  • Provide phone support as required, addressing inquiries related to logistics and shipments.
  • Administer trailer maintenance and dwell times to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Manage the logistics of first and last mile shipments for import and export containers, including coordinating outbound and inbound loads as requested by the sales team and customers.
  • Arrange bookings directly with brokers and collaborate with freight forwarders to align drayage trucking schedules with SSL vessel dates.
  • Ensure timely submission of loading details to freight forwarders and diligently monitor and track loads to mitigate any service failures and implement necessary recovery actions.
  • Conduct freight quoting as required.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in logistics coordination or related field.
  • Proficiency in TMS software preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday - Friday in the Charlotte, NC office.
Pay Details:

$50,000.00 to $55,000.00 per year
