What are we seeking in our Senior Marketing Finance Analyst?

Compensation: $85.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

This role is crucial in shaping the financial strategy and planning for the Marketing department. The successful candidate will engage closely with key stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, and Content Planning to drive financial objectives. The focus will be on marketing expenditures, compiling forecasts, and monitoring actual spending with an emphasis on marketing efficiency in subscriber acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate forecasts and reporting that provide operational teams and executive leadership with insights into anticipated marketing expenditures, serving as a foundation for ad hoc scenario analyses.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment by managing multiple projects, collaborating with various stakeholders, and actively supporting business operations.
  • Develop and monitor marketing budgets through both short-term and long-term planning cycles (e.g., Forecasts, Annual Operating Plans, 5-Year Plans), alongside ad-hoc analyses and special projects as requested by senior management.
  • Work directly with domestic marketing teams to create forecasts and deliver operational finance support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to consistently identify and enhance operational efficiencies across finance and operational departments, particularly regarding quarterly close, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Partner with marketing finance across all Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Linear services to conduct various analyses aimed at identifying efficiencies within marketing budgets and providing strategic guidance.
  • Craft impactful presentation materials (PowerPoint presentations, notes, write-ups, supporting documents, etc.) that effectively convey financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks, and opportunities to diverse audiences, including executive management, to aid in decision-making.
  • Coordinate with international divisions to oversee and communicate consolidated international marketing forecasts and trends.
  • Thoroughly track variances across forecasts and keep leadership informed of these expected variances over time.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in finance-related roles, ideally within Media/Entertainment, Technology, Startup environments, or Investment Banking.
  • Proficient in Excel with strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Deliverable-focused with a robust work ethic, capable of prioritizing and resolving multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and work effectively within a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in the streaming industry is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
