Job Overview

FullSteam is seeking a dedicated Logistics Coordinator to enhance our operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient scheduling and dispatching of shipments, working closely with our Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the secure and timely transport of goods from origin to destination by assigning appropriate carriers.
  • Adhere to Carrier Routing and Load Tendering Instructions for each shipment, with occasional handling of less than truckload (LTL) shipments as directed.
  • Maintain direct communication with carrier dispatch and drivers, addressing shipment inquiries and providing updates while keeping management informed of any issues.
  • Process orders and bills of lading accurately, ensuring all information aligns with provided rates.
  • Utilize sound judgment to manage last-minute shipment requests in the absence of the Logistics Manager.
  • Organize and maintain daily paperwork, ensuring all logs and records are kept up to date for brokerage purposes.
  • Facilitate timely communication with customers regarding shipment statuses.
  • Act as the primary contact for carrier dispatch departments, providing essential customer service and load details.
  • Document daily shipments, including times of arrival, loading, and shipping.
  • Utilize transportation management systems effectively to create, update, and close entries.
  • Familiarity with TruckMate, PC Miler, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with a preference for experience in Forwarding, Brokerage, and 3PL environments.
  • Address and troubleshoot any issues that arise during shipment processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics and attention to detail.
  • Two years of experience in Traffic Management is required, with one year of experience in freight brokering preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations related to freight brokering, shipping, and receiving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant applications.
  • Strong analytical skills for data extraction and analysis.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer.
  • Capability to climb stairs as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Work in a distribution center setting with varying temperatures.
