Job Title: Resident Medication Aide

The Aspenwood Company is seeking a skilled Resident Medication Aide to join our team at the Village of the Heights location, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community.


Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to provide direct care to residents, administer medication, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician.
  • Monitor residents for occurrence of medication interactions and side effects, and notify the healthcare team.
  • Assist residents with medication as defined in medication procedure.
  • Supervise residents who self-administer medication.
  • Maintain residents' records daily in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  • Observe and document the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the supervisor.
  • Write weekly/monthly summaries as assigned, addressing specifically the problems identified in the service plan.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
  • Count controlled substances with outgoing Resident Medication Aide, and assume responsibility for assuring accuracy of count before accepting keys.
  • Provide direct resident care in accordance with the Resident Assistant Job Description.
  • Follow proper procedures in emergency situations and respond promptly and positively to resident requests for assistance.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
  • Delegated by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
