Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Sentara Healthcare. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collect patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Operate phlebotomy equipment, including centrifuges and automated analyzers.
- Label and prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including specimen collection and processing data.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Phlebotomy Program or equivalent experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
