Senior Scheduler Job Description

Our Client, a Public Utilities company, is seeking a Senior Scheduler to join their team in Newark, DE. As a key member of the organization, the Senior Scheduler will oversee and manage scheduling activities, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement scheduling policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize resource allocation and minimize conflicts.
  • Manage and coordinate complex schedules for individuals, teams, or projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tasks.
  • Analyze scheduling data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior schedulers or assistants, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure schedules align with organizational goals and priorities, fostering a culture of teamwork and communication.
  • Communicate schedule changes and updates to relevant parties, ensuring transparency and minimizing disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand their scheduling needs and preferences, tailoring solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior schedulers or assistants, empowering them to take on increasingly complex scheduling tasks.
  • Lead meetings and discussions related to scheduling activities, facilitating open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Ensure schedules are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulations and policies, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also providing guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex scheduling challenges and find creative solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of productivity.
