Senior Bridge Design Engineer

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong background in bridge design and analysis, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. As a Senior Bridge Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading bridge design projects, developing innovative solutions, and collaborating with clients to meet their technical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations using industry-standard software tools.
  • Develop structural details and construction plans using MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • Assist and check design calculations performed by others.
  • Prepare geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
  • Establish and maintain corporate relationships with all employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Mentor junior structural staff members.
Professional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 - 15+ years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts or the ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • Lead bridge projects, meet with clients, and provide technical expertise.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office), along with industry-standard bridge design and analysis software. Some MicroStation and AutoCAD experience.
  • Familiar with structural design software and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Familiarity with MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT, CTDOT standards for design, plan development, and ratings is desired.

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
