Job Summary

Motlow State Community College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Facilities Services. This key leadership position is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and management of all on- and off-campus college facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Facilities Services unit, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair programs to ensure the integrity and safety of college facilities.
  • Manage and oversee the operation and maintenance of all college-owned and leased facilities, including energy management systems and building automation systems.
  • Develop and administer the college's capital outlay and capital maintenance budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective project management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Tennessee Board of Regents Facilities Development Staff, representing the college in all matters related to college facilities.
  • Coordinate and manage all in-house construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement effective environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, ensuring the college's commitment to environmental responsibility.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Facilities Services team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with college administrators, faculty, and staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in facilities management, including 5 years of supervisory, budget, and project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations, including OSHA, TOSHA, EPA, and TDEC compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
  • Ability to travel to all campus locations and college instructional sites.
