About the Role

As a Safety Manager at ABB, you will play a critical role in enhancing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility. You will be responsible for cultivating a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE, and will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report HSE incidents to management and relevant stakeholders, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate, assist, and provide guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks.
  • Provide feedback to management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB.
  • Support and drive behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety & Environmental, or Bachelor's Degree with minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety & Environmental.
  • Strong knowledge in OSHA (OSHA 10 / 30 hour Certification), understanding of Workers' Compensation and Return to Work Programs, and strong understanding of electrical safety (including NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal briefs, technical data, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Six Sigma green belt or higher, CSP/CISP (Certifications).
