Patient Care Specialist

As a Patient Care Technician with Deaconess, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients in the Observation Unit. Under the supervision of the RN, you will perform various care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of our patients.
You will work closely with patients and families, coordinating results and communicating with the Deaconess Care Team. This is a rewarding environment where you will have the opportunity to care for a wide range of diagnoses while demonstrating critical thinking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Provide basic life support principles and assist professional staff as needed
- Communicate pertinent findings or observations to the RN
- Coordinate unit equipment and activities, demonstrating leadership skills
- Support patients' rights and report issues to the appropriate person
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire
- Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Successful completion of PCT classes as required by the care center/unit
