Position Overview

The Jewish Community Center of York Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher for our Early Childhood Program. This full-time role is essential in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Teacher will:

  • Guide and mentor the classroom team to ensure the highest standards of early childhood education.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to promote collaboration and communication.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere where every child feels secure and valued.
  • Ensure compliance with NAEYC and Keystone STARS* standards.
  • Follow the guidelines set forth in the JCC Early Childhood Program Handbook, which includes:
    • Adhering to DHS regulations.
    • Engaging effectively with families.
    • Maintaining the facility and its equipment.
    • Keeping accurate records.
    • Implementing the curriculum.
    • Upholding health and safety protocols.
    • Participating in teamwork through regular attendance at staff meetings.
    • Completing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three to four years of teaching experience.
  • A clear vision for early childhood education.
  • The ability to lift at least 30 pounds and meet the physical demands of working with children.
  • PA certification in Early Childhood Education.
