Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As an Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex diagnostic imaging procedures, including vascular and cardiac interventions.
  • Operate advanced imaging equipment, including CT and MRI scanners.
  • Administer contrast media and perform procedures under the supervision of a staff radiologist.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Maintain proficiency in radiation protection standards and techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in the field and recommend improvements to our imaging services.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a full-time training program in diagnostic radiologic technology, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
  • Advanced ARRT certification in computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or mammography (M) is required for assignments that include these modalities.
  • At least one year of experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, with a strong background in vascular and cardiac interventions.
Working Conditions

This position requires long periods of standing, walking, and sitting. You will be working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with exposure to infection and possible contagious diseases. Standard precautions and isolation techniques will be employed as indicated.
