Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our imaging section, ensuring the highest quality patient care and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor a team of diagnostic radiologic technologists, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to improve workflow, quality, and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recommend promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiologic technology, ensuring our department remains at the forefront of patient care and innovation.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must have a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
  • Must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-10) directly related to the position being filled.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy lifting, prolonged standing, repeated bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, or pulling with and without assistance from another patient care provider or significant other. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Lead Apron) for periods of time.

A health examination must be successfully completed prior to this assignment and periodically thereafter as required by the Employee Health Clinic policy.
