Job Summary:

The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and that the unit runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing personnel, including interviewing and recommending candidates for hire.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staffing patterns and monitor day-to-day staffing and utilization of nursing resources.
  • Coordinate staff meetings and provide input into staff evaluations and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standards of client care, policies and procedures, and protocols.
  • Provide direction during emergency situations and participate in multi-disciplinary patient care conferences and discharge planning activities.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of in-service programs and participate in clinical orientation to the nursing unit.
Requirements:
  • Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, one year in clinical specialty.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of critical care experience.
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
