Medical Assistant for Addiction Recovery

About Us
Montgomery County Recovery Center is a licensed medication assisted treatment program seeking two licensed practical nurses (LPN) to join our team.
Job Summary
This part-time/PRN position involves working approximately 5-10 hours per week, with a schedule of every other Saturday and on-call weekdays between 6:00am and 10:30am. As a LPN, you will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and providing direct intervention for any health-related issues related to program participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Have knowledge of the properties of methadone/buprenorphine and its effects in the body
- Identify and take appropriate action when clients exhibit signs of inappropriate dose levels
- Dispense methadone and buprenorphine, observe clients before and during medicating, and ensure they have consumed medication before leaving the dispensing area
- Be aware of clients' physical conditions, maintenance levels, psychological and physiological effects, as well as any stressors they may be experiencing
- Inform designated nurses of any medical supplies needed, maintain security of the methadone and dispensing area, and assist physicians in conducting physical examinations as directed
- Enter new clients or medication changes into the dispensing system, verify client doses and eligibility for medicating on courtesy dosing clients, and maintain open communication with medical staff
- Record medication other than methadone when ordered by physicians, provide emergency medical treatment, and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to ensure continuity of care and foster a supportive nurturing environment for growth
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current license in PA. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a sign-on bonus of up to $3000, paid out in two installments at 90 days and 180 days of employment.
Physical Requirements
This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
