Position Overview:
At Nightwing, our mission is to leverage cutting-edge technology and engineering expertise to address complex challenges and enhance security for our nation and allies. We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer in Modeling and Simulation who will play a crucial role in our integrated product teams, focusing on Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, and missile performance simulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement high-fidelity simulations and models to support missile design and performance evaluation.
- Conduct comprehensive trade studies and assess system and subsystem performance.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, providing guidance and direction to peers.
- Engage with various departments to execute simulation activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Lead diverse projects, crafting innovative approaches and solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide expert technical support for simulation products, assisting in the preparation of detailed plans and interacting with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field, along with ten or more years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
- Experience in developing or simulating physical systems.
- Background in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis related to engineering solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and collaborating across engineering disciplines.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience in managing teams using applied systems engineering principles and presenting technical briefings.
- Knowledge in developing algorithms or models for missile applications, including signal processing and GNC.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration and modeling related to flight dynamics.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux workstations and Software Configuration Management tools.
- Coursework or experience in radar, signal processing, digital communications, and related fields.
- Current Department of Defense security clearance.
