A prominent systems integrator specializing in audiovisual and networking solutions is in search of a Control Systems Programmer / Lead Technician. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience with AV systems and demonstrate the ability to convey technical concepts effectively. Candidates with a background in high-end residential and corporate environments, focusing on the installation of premium audio, video, and network components, are encouraged to consider this opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, troubleshoot, and enhance software to maximize system efficiency.
  • Configure, set up, and program Elan and Control4 systems.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data.
  • Provide technical support and resolve issues for clients and staff.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet client requirements.
  • Develop and implement recovery protocols for system failures.
  • Address challenges that arise during client projects.
  • Communicate project progress directly to management.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status.
  • Conduct site evaluations as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  • Assist with low voltage pre-wiring of new constructions according to designs.
  • Install low voltage trim components such as in-wall speakers and wall plates.
  • Install AV equipment based on provided designs.
  • Plan, assemble, and terminate AV equipment racks with a focus on professional presentation.
  • Install and test various low voltage and AV-specific cable types.
  • Support a range of AV components including displays and projectors.
  • Interpret blueprints and AV system schematics.
  • Identify cable paths and relay information to project managers.
  • Perform system start-up and debugging.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment failures using test equipment.
  • Document installations, time, and materials accurately.
  • Complete tasks within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and practices.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
  • Undertake other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years as an Elan and/or Control4 Programmer.
  • At least 3 years as an Audio Video Installer or Low Voltage Installer on residential or commercial projects.
  • Experience in professional interactions with clients and vendors.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • D-Tools experience is preferred.
  • Elan and/or Control4 Certification is advantageous.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, and OSHA codes and standards.
  • Professional appearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with significant related experience.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening.
