Job Description

GeekSI is seeking a skilled Manual Tester to join our team. As a Manual Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze system specifications to identify potential issues
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Engineers, and Test Planners/Managers to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Write manual test scripts to test requirements and perform system regression testing
  • Execute test manual cases and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Oversee all test events and manage multiple test events, defining and staffing these test events with appropriate resources
  • Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing and manage the defect database
  • Fix defects
  • Understand the customer's needs and deliver software that meets or exceeds their expectations
  • Take care of and encourage other team members
Requirements:
  • Must currently reside in the US
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology major (Or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Manual Testing experience
  • 2+ years' experience as a Manual Tester
  • Experience writing test scripts based on acceptance criteria
  • Experience testing APIs/web services integration between applications
  • Experience running test scripts and documenting results, including documenting defects
  • Experience participating in daily scrum meetings with users and developers to report and suggest resolution to issues discovered during testing
  • Experience in a technical business systems analyst position with a proven track record to work under pressure and deliver
  • Experience operating within an Agile development methodology
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience using JIRA and Azure Dev Ops
  • Experience using Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with IBM Rational Functional Tester and IBM Performance Tester
