Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Tester to join our team at GeekSI. As a Manual Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze system specifications to identify testing requirements
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Engineers, and Test Planners/Managers to develop effective testing strategies and plans
  • Write manual test scripts to test requirements and perform system regression testing
  • Execute test cases and analyze results to identify defects
  • Evaluate product code against specifications to ensure quality
  • Document testing phases and defects in logs
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues and provide solutions
  • Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing to ensure software quality
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Configure necessary hardware and operating environments for testing
  • Manage the defect database and track defects to resolution

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Manual Testing experience
  • 2+ years' experience as a Manual Tester
  • Experience writing test scripts based on acceptance criteria
  • Experience testing APIs/web services integration between applications
  • Experience running test scripts and documenting results, including documenting defects
  • Experience participating in daily scrum meetings with users and developers to report and suggest resolution to issues discovered during testing
  • Experience operating within an Agile development methodology

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using JIRA and Azure Dev Ops
  • Experience using Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with IBM Rational Functional Tester and IBM Performance Tester
