Position Summary

Join our esteemed institution as an Electrical Training Facilitator at Ogden-Weber Technical College. In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to mentor and motivate students enrolled in our Electrical Trades Prep and Electrical Apprentice programs. As a facilitator, you will deliver both theoretical knowledge and practical training in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems, guiding students on their path to becoming proficient electricians and achieving their journeyman's license.

Collaboration is key; you will work alongside the Program Coordinator and fellow faculty members to enhance student success in program completion, job placement, and licensure. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining student competency records and engaging in curriculum development to uphold the highest educational standards. If you are passionate about education and dedicated to fostering student success, we welcome you to our team.

Essential Functions

1. Deliver technical instruction to students in a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
2. Administer assessments and maintain records of student progress and attendance.
3. Collaborate with students to meet programmatic objectives.
4. Provide motivation and guidance to students regarding professional behavior, training, and study habits. Assist colleagues and staff as needed to address challenges affecting student training.
5. Promote and model professionalism and effective work habits.
6. Collaborate with other Electrical Training Facilitators to design, prepare, and implement curriculum adjustments based on recommendations from the Occupational Advisory Committee, local businesses, and industry standards.
7. Ensure instructional content aligns with college standards and accreditation requirements.
8. Participate in Occupational Advisory Committee meetings.
9. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance technical knowledge and teaching skills.
10. Support marketing initiatives for the program and the college.
11. Interact positively and professionally with students, colleagues, and community partners to foster collaborative solutions.
12. Manage the use of equipment and supplies; make recommendations for purchases.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Must hold a current Utah Journeyman Electrician License.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.
3. Preference will be given to candidates with a current Utah Master Electrician License.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to operate a Windows-based personal computer.

Physical Requirements:
1. The role requires physical exertion, including the ability to stand, walk over uneven surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) frequently and/or for extended periods.
2. The position involves risks that necessitate the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, such as working near operating machinery.

Additional Information

Working Hours: Evenings from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
