- Oversees effective financial management of the department to ensure judicious use of financial resources, demonstrating the ability to analyze data to support informed business decisions.
- Facilitates communication across departments to enhance operational efficiency, collaborating with physicians and other organizational leaders.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards through appropriate policies and practices, being accountable for the quality of services, identifying opportunities for performance improvement and patient safety, and developing quality and safety initiatives.
- Creates and sustains an environment that champions service excellence, serving as a role model for staff, patients, and family interactions.
- Encourages open communication, ensuring regular information sharing for effective operations and positive employee relations.
- Commits to personal and professional development to maintain current knowledge in the field, collaborating with the Department of Professional Development to create educational programs that enhance staff skills and promote professional growth.
- In partnership with the Department of Professional Development, supports nursing leadership and staff participation in the shared governance model, acting as a mentor for nurses in understanding this framework.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience, including 2 years in a leadership role. Nursing certification in leadership or a related specialty is preferred. Membership in a healthcare/nursing professional organization is advantageous.
License: Valid RN license required based on state regulations.
Working Conditions: Manual skills and motor coordination are essential, with some occupational risks. Physical effort is primarily sedentary/light, with the potential to exert up to 10 lbs. of force. Exposure to various environmental factors may occur.
