Job Description:
As an Auto Body Technician, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle to restore it back to pre-accident condition.
You will work closely with other team members to achieve the repair facility's KPIs and be a dedicated Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair Vehicle Bodies: Ensure consistent execution of the WOW plan and repair vehicle bodies using various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Plan Repair Work: Plan the repair work necessary and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Dent Repair: Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; mix and apply filler resins to repair dents when other methods are not feasible.
- Chassis and Frame Realignment: Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Section Replacement: Remove damaged sections of vehicles and replace them with new or aftermarket parts. Replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Interior Part Replacement: Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Welding and Attachment: Weld and otherwise attach or fit parts into place and prepare vehicles for painting.
- Vehicle Inspection: Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies and ability to read job orders.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work with very little supervision and communicate effectively with other repairers within an auto body shop.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present, lift up to 30 pounds at times, visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions, and bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
