Auto Body Repair Specialist

About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Repair Specialist to join our team at The Boyd Group. As an integral part of our collision repair services, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle assessments and quality repairs.
Job Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is to restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition while ensuring speed, quality, and customer excellence. You will work closely with our team to achieve repair facility KPIs and maintain high standards in your work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent execution of our WOW plan.
- Plan and prepare cost estimates for customers, utilizing various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammmer out dents, dimples, and minor body damage if possible; mix and apply filler resins to repair dents when other methods are not feasible.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts. Replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts as necessary.
- Weld and attach parts into place, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure all work has been executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is preferred.
Requirements:
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Knowledge of how to use required trade tools.
Benefits:
- An estimated salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
