Job Overview

Objective:

The primary goal is to deliver comprehensive care and support to residents, addressing their daily living and activity requirements under the guidance of the Department Manager and/or the on-duty Nurse. This role is essential in ensuring that residents experience the highest quality of life while at The Orchard.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Current certification as a CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Home Maker, or equivalent experience.
  • References that validate caregiving skills and experience.
  • Recent TB skin test prior to employment and annually thereafter.
  • Background check clearance within the last two years.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A genuine compassion for and desire to assist the elderly.
  • Ability to fulfill all essential job functions and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately document resident activities using approved forms.
  • Provide essential care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transferring, and incontinence care, utilizing appropriate techniques.
  • Monitor and report any changes in resident conditions to ensure their safety.
  • Conduct rounds as instructed to assess resident well-being.
  • Respond promptly to call lights.
  • Perform vital sign checks as required by trained personnel.
  • Assist with dining services and recreational activities as directed.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Follow the resident care plan and document all relevant information.
  • Effectively communicate with residents and respond to their needs.
  • Report incidents and complete necessary documentation.
  • Manage laundry and linens in accordance with The Orchard's policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment and the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and resident rights.
  • Participate in all mandatory training sessions.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities.
  • Provide courteous and friendly customer service, prioritizing resident satisfaction.
  • Assess and prioritize resident needs effectively.
