We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management to patients in our outpatient clinics.
- Work collaboratively with our medical staff, including residents, fellows, attendings, and staff nurses, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Assume responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care.
- Teach and mentor residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement patient education programs and discharge planning.
- Master's degree in Nursing (NP) or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences (PA).
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice (NP) or License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified (PA).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing (NP) or State Board of Medical Examiners (PA).
- 3 years of related working experience.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing situations. The incumbent must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and to perform physical tasks that require manual dexterity.
The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
