Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Pediatric Anesthesiology Division at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's of Wisconsin Hospital. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to our pediatric patients, working collaboratively with our team of anesthesiologists, fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer general and local anesthesia to pediatric patients
  • Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibration
  • Prepare patients for anesthesia and monitor them during procedures
  • Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans and collaborate with anesthesiologists to determine the best course of treatment
  • Perform post-procedure tests to ensure patients are recovering well
  • Operate anesthesia equipment to monitor patients during procedures
  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality
  • Obtain complete patient medical histories, conduct physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews
  • Review patient medical histories to confirm accuracy and completeness
  • Administer and order diagnostic and laboratory tests as needed
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists to determine the next step in preparing patients for procedures
  • Employ CPR or other emergency procedures as indicated
  • Perform administrative duties, including collecting medical records, conducting patient chart reviews, and following up with patients and families

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist Program
  • National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification
  • Wisconsin RN license
  • AHA BCLS and/or ACLS certification
  • Previous CRNA experience in pediatric anesthesiology or pediatric healthcare experience preferred
