Job Title: Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant

Job Summary:
The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join its Adult Anesthesiology Division. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population, working directly under the supervision of our Adult Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated team of CAAs and certified nurse anesthetists.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer general and local anesthesia to patients undergoing various medical procedures.
  • Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibration to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare patients to be effectively monitored and provide direct patient care before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality.
  • Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews to ensure accurate and comprehensive care.
  • Review the complete patient medical history and develop anesthetic care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure they are recovering well and make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans as needed.

Requirements:
  • Current certification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) or eligibility for certification.

  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, including patient medical histories and anesthetic care plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
