JOB OVERVIEW

Wood is seeking an experienced offshore Subsea Control Room Operator with a strong background in large-scale offshore oil and gas facilities. This role is situated in a dynamic maritime environment, focusing on the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The standard work rotation is 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties:

  • Report directly to the Production Supervisor on shift.
  • Oversee and manage the remote operations of deep water subsea wells and production systems, executing emergency corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with operational limits, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, submitting reports as required.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to monitor, log, and address operational and safety concerns.
  • Keep the work area organized and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist with additional projects as directed by the supervisor.
  • Conduct daily operations, maintenance, and repairs of all facility equipment, ensuring proper housekeeping and inventory management.
  • Monitor and maintain all process equipment and safety devices from the wellhead to the sales line.
  • Evaluate personnel performance, well operations, and production equipment to optimize recovery; calculate daily production rates, conduct well testing, and report production metrics.
  • Provide mentorship and training to local personnel.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications:
  • Technical training equivalent to a Degree, HNC, or similar qualification.
  • NVQ or SVQ in Process Hydrocarbons.
  • Completion of BOSIET, MEDICAL, and MIST training.
  • Emergency Response Team Training.
Job-Specific Skills:
  • Extensive offshore Control Room Operator experience in deep water subsea gas production.
  • Proficient in subsea operations.
  • Ability to support the development of the National Workforce through mentoring and training.
Experience:
  • Proactive in identifying safety issues and mitigating risks in daily operations.
  • Competent in Functional Safety requirements.
  • Familiar with IEC 61508/61511 and/or Performance Standards.
  • Thorough understanding of the Joule-Thomson effect.
  • Knowledgeable in Turbo-Expansion and Re-Compression processes.
  • Experienced in executing procedures for Normal Start-up, Planned Shutdown, Unplanned Shutdown, Maintenance Preparation, and Emergency Response.
  • Familiar with both Subsea and Topsides Operations and Safety Systems.
  • Knowledgeable in MEG and TEG Reclamation processes.
  • Proficient in Subsea Hydraulic Controls.
  • Experienced in Flow Assurance practices and working with ultra-low temperatures in Gas Processing.
PC Application Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
Personal Attributes:
  • Able to collaborate with diverse personnel in a multinational setting with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of effective communication at all organizational levels.
  • Skilled in fostering productive relationships with stakeholders.
