Job Summary

The Director of Clinical Ancillary Systems is responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing ancillary applications, products, or technology solutions throughout their life cycle. This role is critical in ensuring the effective delivery of clinical care services across various clinical service lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical information system strategies in alignment with AtlantiCare's clinical operations and business strategies.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations and business leaders to identify opportunities for improving clinical ancillary applications and services.
  • Define and enhance methodologies and practices for clinical system life cycle management, ensuring alignment with best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the clinical information systems organization, ensuring it contributes to AtlantiCare's achievement of its goals.
  • Develop and manage clinical ancillary system application roadmaps, including status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Manage relationships with major solution vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet the organization's needs.
  • Oversee the assessment of the technical, clinical operation, and business fitness of the clinical application portfolio and their associated costs and risks.
  • Ensure the clinical information system application governance process is followed, gaining consensus on a prioritized set of measurable clinical outcomes that applications and solutions must support.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT-related and healthcare experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a manager preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applications and technology integration.
  • Ability to mentor team members.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects.
Performance Expectations
  • Provides leadership, vision, and direction to the clinical information systems organization.
  • Works with IT leaders to develop overall clinical information system strategy.
  • Develops productive relationships with clinical operations and business leaders.
  • Defines and enhances methodologies and practices for clinical system life cycle management.
  • Provides support and facilitates innovative and experimental clinical information system work.
  • Ensures clinical information system processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental, and technical policies and applicable regulatory standards and legislation.
  • Directs team members, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the organization's needs.
  • Works with clinical operations leadership to implement and manage clinical ancillary system application roadmaps.
  • Manages relationships with major solution vendors and service providers.
  • Oversees the assessment of the technical, clinical operation, and business fitness of the clinical application portfolio.
  • Ensures the clinical information system application governance process is followed.
Work Environment

This position requires balancing, fingering, reaching, seeing, driving, and speaking a majority of the time. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs. also required.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the AVP IT Enterprise Applications.
