About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team at BJC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth patient experience from registration to scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Register and schedule patients in multiple BJC systems, ensuring accurate patient identification and verification of insurance information.
  • Validate orders, scan and retrieve documents, and maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal, state, and accreditation agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and co-workers to provide education on financial responsibilities and collect applicable patient payments.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and respond to complex situations, anticipating patients' needs and being able to respond to them in a professional, positive, and patient-focused manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Less than 2 years of experience; 2-5 years preferred.
  • CHAA certification a plus.
