About the Opportunity

This is a managerial position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The role is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and regulatory compliance functions, ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with experience in regulatory compliance and team leadership. Key responsibilities will include managing a team of accountants and analysts, reviewing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise a team of accountants and analysts responsible for accounting and regulatory compliance.
  2. Review and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to improve financial processes and enhance regulatory compliance.
  4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of financial and regulatory policies.
  5. Provide training and guidance to team members on regulatory compliance and financial management best practices.
  6. Identify and mitigate financial and regulatory risks to the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting and financial management, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in SAP financial management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
