Job Title: Data Scientist II

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist II to join our Power Delivery team. As a Data Scientist II, you will be responsible for providing technical support on complex and business-critical projects related to wildfire mitigation, asset performance, and T&D Operations across six states.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research studies and technical analyses in areas of specialized data science to support company objectives.
  • Support data science projects, processes, or systems over the life cycle of the project.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and regulatory teams to analyze complex problems and identify issues.
  • Provide technical expertise across business units to support functions such as wildfire mitigation and reliability within the T&D Operations organization.
  • Develop detailed computational analysis, including data science, computer modeling, and scripting and tool development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Math, or Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a power/utility/energy industry or related professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Python (or related language).
  • Knowledge of SQL query construction and optimization.
  • Technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Python (or related language) and associated libraries for machine learning.
  • Experience with time series modeling and forecasting.
  • Experience working with public utility commissions (PUCs) and their requirements/regulations.
