Medical Laboratory Scientist PRN

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist PRN to join our team at Intermountain Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing a variety of laboratory tests of varying complexity.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results.
- Work collaboratively with clinical staff, co-workers, and other departments to ensure accurate results and provide technical expertise.
- Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, calibrations, record review, instrument maintenance, and results/analyzer troubleshooting.
- Assist with training and mentoring new staff, as well as evaluating and validating new equipment.
- Act as a technical expert and provide guidance to colleagues on laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science from an accredited institution.
- Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or equivalent certification as approved by Manager and Human Resources.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call.
- Experience with laboratory information systems.
- Experience in relevant areas of the clinical laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to use laboratory systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills using email, telephone, and in person.
This position requires the ability to interact with others, operate complex and delicate lab equipment, and remain sitting or standing for long periods of time. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
