Join Our Team as a Culinary Support Specialist

Compensation: $500 Hiring Bonus

Devereux Arizona operates a 24-hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children aged 5 to 17 facing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. Our facility spans a picturesque 10-acre campus and includes dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, and comprehensive medical and therapy services.

As a Culinary Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in our food service operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. This position adheres to federal and state regulations in the planning, preparation, and serving of meals for both residents and staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables and cutting meat.
  • Ensuring exceptional presentation of dishes prior to serving.
  • Maintaining a sanitized kitchen and proper storage of food items.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to prevent shortages.
  • Performing general kitchen cleaning duties, including dishwashing and deep cleaning tasks.
  • Organizing food storage areas and managing deliveries.
  • Completing temperature check logs and providing shift coverage as needed.

Work Schedule:
Wednesday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, Thursday/Friday 6:00 am - 2:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm (schedules may vary)

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in quantity cooking is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid Food Handlers card or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience in record keeping and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License and the ability to pass a DMV history check.
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Completion of a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Willingness to attend a one-week paid New Hire Orientation followed by three weeks of on-the-job training.
