Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement revenue and inventory management strategies, including forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
  • Enhance processes to reduce inventory expenses while ensuring effective management reporting.
  • Oversee site purchasing operations, ensuring commitments to customers are met through effective supplier negotiations and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage warehouse operations across all business units, ensuring security and efficiency in material handling.
  • Lead the import logistics team, focusing on carrier negotiations and customs compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external logistics providers, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
  • Ensure adherence to all customs regulations and laws, assisting with global customs and traffic issues.
  • Supervise shipping operations and ensure compliance with export regulations.
  • Guide the design and maintenance of supply chain management systems and processes.
  • Provide direction to business units to achieve inventory financial targets.
  • Oversee annual physical inventory and manage surplus sales and scrap material disposition.
  • Manage multiple departments, including Material Master, Dock Operations, and Distribution.
  • May oversee Inside Sales, focusing on customer service and order management.
  • Responsible for employee development, performance evaluation, and recognition.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain management function.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, distribution methods, and global logistics.
  • Strong understanding of the global business landscape and customer needs.
  • Familiarity with IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Expertise in import/export regulations and logistics management.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in an office setting.
  • Extended periods of sitting and visual concentration on screens may be required.
  • Repetitive tasks such as data entry are common.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires seven to ten years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
