Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Support Specialist to join our team at ProCare Therapy. As a School Support Specialist, you will provide support to special education teachers and students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist special education teachers in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized programs.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
- Monitor and assist with student progress through data collection and observation.
- Provide individual and group support to students to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Assist in conducting assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and services provided.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to special education.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in data collection and basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently.
- Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with industry trends.
