Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic Procedures: Accurately perform defined diagnostic procedures as requested by referring physicians, in a timely manner.
  • Radiopharmaceuticals: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication by proper route per clinician prescription and according to approved exam parameters.
  • Patient Care: Obtain relevant patient history, prepare the patient for exam, and operate digital imaging systems to acquire images and/or graphic data.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain complete record of receipt, disposition, and disposal of all radioactive materials as indicated by the Department of Nuclear Safety and Accrediting Organization.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and examination rooms, ensuring proper use of equipment and notifying the Practice Manager of equipment malfunctions.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform clerical duties required to capture charges, maintain required recordkeeping, and facilitate physician reporting.
  • Professional Development: Maintain professional competence by attending inservice presentations, staff meetings, and outside continuing education programs appropriate to the needs and goals of the department.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited 2-year Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Experience: Two plus years experience in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Licensure: IDNS Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Certification: CPR Certification.

Working Conditions:

  • May be exposed to radiation during procedures and stand for long periods while wearing a lead apron.
  • May be required to lift and move patients.
  • May be exposed to hazardous material and infectious diseases.
