Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Deliver direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols.
  • Adjust priorities for patient care based on acuity, preferences, and available resources.
  • Implement interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond proactively to health risks and initiate corrective actions.
  • Seek guidance when necessary to ensure safe and independent practice.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient care accurately in medical records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN is preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on the unit.

Work Environment:

This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. The physical demands include the ability to lift and move patients, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Compliance with Standard Precautions and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory for all procedures.
