Job Summary

The SERC Reliability Corporation is seeking an experienced Regulatory Policy Advisor to join its team. The successful candidate will assist the Legal and Regulatory Affairs team in growing its state and regulatory outreach program by developing, managing, and executing external communications to State utility commissions, legislative bodies, and administrative agencies in SERC's 16-state footprint on energy regulatory and policy issues.

This role will help expand the state target market or audience, serve as a key point of contact for state regulators and legislators, craft and enhance SERC's external messaging to these state audiences, and engage in outreach and education to these state audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and execute communication materials and marketing campaigns for State Audiences on topics related to SERC's mission of reducing risks to the reliability and security of the grid.
  • Create state and regulatory outreach communication strategies that support SERC's mission and efforts to increase state stakeholder awareness of the reliability and security of the electric grid.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to draft, review, edit, produce, and optimize messages, content, and delivery methods for state stakeholder external communications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, including Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Communications, or Public Relations.
  • Law degree (J.D.) preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in regulatory or policy work in energy or a related field.
