Contra Costa Community College District is seeking an adjunct faculty member for our Concert Choir and Masterworks Chorale within the Music department. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess experience and proficiency in guiding students through the study, rehearsal, and public performance of standard choral repertoire for mixed voices, including works with orchestral accompaniment.

Description of Position:
We are looking for an adjunct faculty member to instruct our Concert Choir and Masterworks Chorale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading students in the exploration, practice, and public presentation of established choral works for mixed voices, with an emphasis on collaboration with orchestras. Rehearsals are scheduled for Mondays from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM in designated facilities. Public performances and additional rehearsals will be organized throughout the semester at various venues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjunct Faculty responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Delivering instruction aligned with established curriculum and course outlines;
2. Creating a learning environment that promotes open discussion and critical thinking;
3. Assessing student progress and providing feedback on academic performance;
4. Holding office hours for student consultations;
5. Upholding professional standards and ethics;
6. Staying current in the subject matter;
7. Fulfilling the responsibilities associated with part-time faculty status;
8. Maintaining accurate academic records;
9. Performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students. For the Music Discipline, candidates must possess:
- A Master's degree in music
OR
- A Bachelor's degree in music and a Master's degree in humanities
OR an equivalent qualification.

License/Certificates/Credentials:
No specific licenses or credentials are required.
