About the Role

Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Bath Health and Wellness Center is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician II to join our team. As a Surgical Technician II, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons in the scrub capacity and with circulating responsibilities under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Organize and maintain instruments and supplies to promote safe and efficient transfer to and from surgeons and assistants.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon with regard to instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
  • Assist in the preparation and draping of the patient and operative area.
  • Maintain aseptic technique at all times.
  • Perform appropriate needle, sponge, and instrument counts with the registered nurse and report correctness and discrepancies.
  • Assist in the application of dressings and casts.
  • Assemble all instruments and equipment for decontamination according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
  • Assist with routine and terminal cleaning and other housekeeping duties as directed.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved surgical technology program or equivalent.
  • CST certification or willing to obtain within one year of employment.
  • One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Knowledgeable of and competent in suturing techniques.
