Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Substation Equipment Engineer Intern to join our Regional Engineering Substation team. As an intern, you will gain experience with electrical and mechanical equipment and systems, programming, software, evaluation tools, and general project management.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience and exposure to practical applications within the utility industry.
  • Work under close supervision to perform a variety of projects with specific instructions and expected results.
  • Be assigned to a Supervisor and/or a Coach/Mentor.
  • Complete day-to-day tasks and a project that will last the duration of your assignment.
  • Present to a team of company employees the results of your project and overall summary of your experience.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university program in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineer, Electromechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer.
  • GPA requirement: 3.00 or higher.
  • Be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student.
  • Eligible to work in the United States in accordance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations.
  • Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Travel within the service territory may be required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
