Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Supervisor to join our team at UNM Medical Group, Inc. in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising nurses and medical assistants, supporting providers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Assign nursing personnel and staff to specific patients and providers
    • Designate shift and schedule assignments
    • Perform supervisory functions, including selection, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions
  • Patient Care
    • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized plans of care
    • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
    • Administer medication, including IV medications as required
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Act as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other resources
    • Facilitate communication, problem-solving, decision-making, crisis intervention, and conflict management
  • Quality and Safety
    • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
    • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
Requirements
  • Associate degree in nursing with 2 years of nursing experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Mexico
  • Completed degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis
