Library Assistant IV

Job Summary:
The Library Assistant IV - Access Services is a key member of the Claire Carney Library team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to students, faculty, and staff. This role involves supervising student employees, processing course reserve materials, and maintaining the library's collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train student employees in Access Services
- Process course reserve materials, adhering to copyright guidelines
- Maintain the library's collection, including inventory and shelving
- Provide customer service at the Access Services desk, responding to library and technology inquiries
- Assist patrons with software, technology, and printing questions
- Prepare and adjust functional work schedules of student employees
- Collaborate with other university departments for recommendations
- Participate in the development of library policy and procedures
Requirements:
- Three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time paraprofessional or clerical experience as a library assistant
- One year of supervisory experience
- Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing assigned unit activities
- Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written expression
