$17.75 per hour

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday: 3 PM - 8 PM (40 hours per week)

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Safety and Security Officer is to ensure a secure and safe environment within the facilities of COMHAR. This role encompasses various tasks, including monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, managing access to buildings, responding to alarms and emergencies, and enforcing security protocols. The position requires close collaboration with other staff to uphold the safety and security of clients, visitors, employees, and property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all entry and exit points to the facility, ensuring that only authorized personnel gain access.
  • Welcome clients, visitors, and staff courteously.
  • Assist with sign-in processes at designated locations as necessary.
  • Oversee the client sign-in system, ensuring compliance with established procedures, verifying identification when required, and directing clients and guests to appropriate waiting areas.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment throughout the facilities.
  • Respond to any suspicious activities or security breaches promptly.
  • Report any irregularities or security incidents to the relevant personnel immediately.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including medical situations, fires, and security threats.
  • Assist with evacuations and emergency protocols as directed by facility guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility's interior and exterior, including parking areas and surrounding grounds, addressing any safety hazards to the appropriate management.
  • Ensure orderly conduct in waiting areas, intervening in cases of disruptive behavior as per facility policies.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during interactions with clients, visitors, and staff.
  • Provide assistance to clients and visitors as needed, which may include escorting individuals to their designated areas within the facility.
  • Keep detailed logs of security-related incidents, including timestamps, descriptions, and actions taken, and submit reports to management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain open communication with other security personnel and facility staff to coordinate responses to security incidents.
  • Participate in regular meetings to stay informed about facility operations and security issues.
  • Stay updated on security policies and procedures, adhering to all guidelines.
  • Perform other reasonable duties related to this position as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in management or a related field preferred.
  • Valid clearances including PA State Criminal, FBI, and Child Abuse.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in security, law enforcement, or public safety required.
  • CPR with AED and First Aid certification required.
  • Physical examination including PPD or TB shot.
